Duck

Town of Duck

Duck is the northernmost town in Dare County’s Outer Banks and one of the most popular places for visitors (Corolla to the north is in Currituck County). Same as Corolla, Duck population dramatically increases from a few hundred people in the winter to several thousand visitors during the summer.

Situated between Corolla and Southern Shores, Duck features miles of beautiful uncrowded beaches, a number of lovely restaurants and locally owned boutique shops, endless biking and jogging paths, well-thought soundfront boardwalk, and 11-acre Town Park right in the heart of the village. A soundfront boardwalk makes getting around many shops and restaurants very pleasant. Duck is actually one of the very few places on Outer Banks where you can easily get around on bike or foot.

The town park is a recreational facility with trails through the maritime forest and willow swamp. It also has an amphitheater, playground, picnic shelter, and public kayak/canoe launch. In the fall Duck hosts its annual Jazz Festival. During the summer months, the town offers many events, programs and outdoor activities including Yoga on the Green, Movies on the Sound, a family magic show, live concerts and interactive theater. Programs are free and open to the public.

While browsing through the town, you will be amazed with local art galleries and bookstores, jewelry stores and gift shops, specialty food shops and farm stands, surf shops and watersports centers, state-of-art spas and so much more.

Barrier Island, Four Seasons, Palmer’s Island and Sanderling are probably the most famous communities in Duck, although all of its quiet neighborhoods are great places to spend a wonderful time at the beach.

Duck real estate market presents a wide variety of opportunities for anyone looking for the best on Outer Banks, NC.
